ICT Project for Social Change

I learned that before starting a project or campaign, I should be able to do necessary paperwork better know as a concept paper.

When writing or typing a concept paper, I should include the five elements, which are the introduction, purpose, description, support, and contact information.

The introduction includes my mission and vision and a brief introduction of my project or campaign. The purpose include why the project or campaign is worth my sponsor’s time, effort, and many. The description includes all the information about the project. It involves the website or page I am going to produce and the purpose of each on how they work in unison. The support contains the budget needed for the project, though some concept papers do not specify any amount requested from the sport. Last but not the least, contact information includes information on how the group can be contacted.

Platform for Change

I learned about the importance of ICT as a platform.

Through ICT, the first EDSA revolution happened, where Radio Veritas, a radio station facility, that helped broadcast from Bulacan province the plea of Catholic Church officials for people to gather on Edsa in February 1986 and protect a group of military officials and soldiers who chose to stand against strongman Ferdinand Marcos.

During the EDSA Dos, ICT played an important role by the use of mobile technologies. Text barigades were used to call for an end to the Estrada government.

The Million People March, which was a series of protests regarding the Pork Barrel Scam with around 400,000 people, was known for having millions of supporters around Facebook, and through Change.org, a platform that creates petitions.

When Typhoon Yolanda hit Visayas, Google launched Yolanda Person Finder, a website that is used to search for missing people. It was used to track missing people who were washed away from the super typhoon.
